Magdalena Durda-Dmitruk, Ph.D. Collegium of Art Education, The Maria Grzegorzewska University, Warsaw; Polish Institute of World Art Studies


Graduated from the Catholic University of Lublin (Art History, 1996) and completed a post-graduate international culture management programme (Mastère Spécialisé Européen en Management des Entreprises Culturelles, 1999/2000, France). In 2013 she received a Ph.D. in the field of art history at the Institute of Polish Art, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. She is a curator, coordinator and organiser of various events popularising photography and contemporary art in Poland and abroad (i.a.: Lithuania, Ukraine, Denmark, France, Germany, USA, Italy, Japan, Mongolia, and Iceland). She was a curator of The Warsaw Festival of Artistic Photography (seven editions, 2005-2011, 2015) and Warsaw Biennale of Media Art (three editions: 2005, 2007 and 2010). She is also a gallery curator (i.a. Salon Sztuki 49 in Warsaw and since 2014 – University Gallery at The Maria Grzegorzewska University). Durda-Dmitruk was a deputy editor-in-chief of “mediaart” magazine (2009-2012). She is the author of various publications on art, especially photography, media art and contemporary art. She was a lecturer at the Fine Arts Academy in Warsaw (2005-2012). Since 2013 she has worked as an assistant professor at the Institute of Art Education, The Maria Grzegorzewska University.
