The artist graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. She received her diploma in painting (with distinction) in 1989, working under supervision of professor Janusz Kaczmarski. In 1991 she completed post graduate studies at The Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art in Oxford. In 1998 she was in Paris, on a scholarship of the Independent Polish Literature and Science Assistance Fund. Since 2006 she has worked at the Institute of Art Education, Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw. In the years 2006-2008 and 2010-2012 she was the director of the Institute. Currently, as a professor, she runs the painting atelier within the framework of the Faculty of Fine Arts, combining artistic activities with teaching. She is an organiser of thematic artistic open air workshops in her home in Warmia (i.a.: “Holy Week”, “The Saints of Warmian Chapels”, “Trękus dell`arte”, “Bacchantes”). Since 2010 she has initiated and organised a cycle of open air workshops: “The Scrap of the Atlantis – The Chapels of Warmia”. She carries out educational and artistic research projects. She is the co-author (with Jacek A. Zieliński) of the cycle of handbooks for primary schools and grammar schools entitled “The World of Art.” She runs her own gallery In Spe. She is an author of several individual exhibitions and a participant of numerous collective shows both in Poland and abroad. She lives and works in Trękus, a small village in Warmia.
